According to the article by Li Jun from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, "Cross-Cultural Renaissance on the Silk Road: A Re-examination of Ambrogio Lorenzetti's 'The Allegory of Good and Bad Government' and Lou Shou's 'Gengzhi Tu'," the major works of Ambrogio Lorenzetti, a representative figure of the Sienese School, and Lou Shou of the Southern Song Dynasty, along with its Yuan Dynasty copies, are comprehensively connected and compared in terms of detailed elements and composition. The article provides intricate microscopic image analyses and explores the complex practices of silk production, trade, and imagery representation, reconstructing a story of cross-cultural Renaissance within the vast context of the Eurasian continent during the Mongol Yuan period.

Based on this foundation, the "Allegory and Effects of Good and Bad Government" section of Ambrogio Lorenzetti's "The Allegory of Good and Bad Government" is selected. This part depicts the positive impacts of good governance on urban and rural areas, illustrating agricultural activities throughout different seasons of the year, reflecting the elegance and prosperity of rural life. It is compared with the farming scenes in Cheng Qi's Yuan Dynasty copy of "Gengzhi Tu," which presents the rice planting process in detailed illustrations, embodying the household-based small-scale farming economy of ancient China. An in-depth comparative analysis and comprehensive connection between ancient China and ancient Italy are conducted, focusing on the agricultural phases in the annual climatic calendar and the harvesting stages. This analysis highlights the differences and similarities in these two aspects between the two cultures.
